Welcome NWCSO Guest Artist, Wonyoung Jung - violin, for our October 2019 concert
Wonyoung Jung, violinist
Wonyoung Jung, has a musical career of broad versatility. She is currently one of the most active violinists in Korea. A former pupil of Young-Uck Kim, One of the great Korean violin virtuosos of the 20th century, she studied in Seoul National University. After graduation, she went to Yale University in the U.S. to study with Ani Kavafian and then moved to Düsseldorf Musikhochschule, Germany and completed her studies under Ida Bieler. After returning to Korea, she has been playing with numerous orchestras, clearly showing the audience her role as a soloist. Wonyoung has appeared with Gwangju City Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Neun Philharmonie Westfalen of Germany, Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra of Russia, Korean Chamber Orchestra, Gyeonsangbuk-do philharmonic, and so on. A member of Korean Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Tonika, KCO Violin Quartet, she plays tremendous chamber performances. She teaches at Seoul National University and serves as a visiting professor at Suwon University.

Tickets are available on all concert dates prior to performances and through
intermission. We welcome cash and checks only. Will Call tickets may be
picked up at the Box Office.
